崩坏、加速秩序与协议作为一门“语言”：Venkatesh Rao 访谈

The Summer of Protocols (SoP) is a seasonal research program that supports the study of protocols in and across fields. In late 2022, the Ethereum Foundation, which helps maintain the core blockchain protocol of the same name, commissioned the program in order to broaden their understanding of protocols and how to manage them.

GCC 作为 SoP 的共同主办方，将在华语区同 Uncommons 一起，额外支持用华语写作的学者、作家和艺术家（从 2024 年开始）。

现在的问题是，基本上没有答案。大多数人已经放弃了，他们说：“等着一切崩溃吧，然后我们像野人一样生活在后崩溃时代。”我认为这是一种失败主义，是放弃。人类比那更聪明。

Venkatesh Rao

Venkatesh Rao is a writer and consultant based in Seattle. His current writing can be found on the the Contraptions newsletter. Since 2023, he has been the program director of the Summer of Protocols program.

Between 2007-24, he used to write a popular blog called Ribbonfarm (now archived). He is the author of Tempo (2011), a book on timing and decision-making; and The Clockless Clock(in progress), which is being serialized in his newsletter.
